Jodi Callahan knew from a very young age
just who she was. . . she was an artist!
Her dream to someday work in the field was one that never waivered
and she was determined to make it happen.
Coming from a family of artists, Jodi lived in a world
surrounded by art and she always loved to draw.
With a strong ambition to reach her goal, she created her first portfolio.
And in 1982 graduated a Senior Art Major
from Winchester High School.
Jodi went on to study art in Boston.
Majoring in advertising and graphic design,
she graduated in 1985 from The New England School of Art and Design.
Jodi worked as a graphic designer for the next eleven years.
In 1996 after working for eight years
in the art department of a leading travel agency,
Jodi decided to leave the field to raise her family.
In February of 2003 when her children were just six and four,
Jodi was diagnosed with an invasive form of breast cancer.
After having endured the effects of chemotherapy and multiple surgeries,
Jodi is happy to say she is now cancer free.
She is a proud survivor.
Jodi's experience with cancer, though trying at times, was also an awakening.
She discovered a realization as to what is truly important
and a new appreciation for the beauty of life that surrounds her.
Jodi knew she needed to capture this beauty
and express herself the way she always had.
She needed to return to her art.
For the first time in her life Jodi felt a strong desire to paint!
Choosing oils, she has happened upon a medium
that she loves like no other before.
Painting to classical music, she gets lost in her work,
experiencing a sense of peace and truly living her dream.
